How to trim glass jade

How to trim glass jade

Time and method

During the seedling growth period, pinching should be done 2 to 3 times to promote the growth of side branches, increase the number of flowers, and make the overall plant shape more beautiful.

If the glass jade grows too tall, all the branches that are too high should be cut off to reduce unnecessary nutrient loss. Branches that grow too high are also caused by excessive growth, so there is no need to let it continue to grow.

If you find weak or smaller branches, you should prune them appropriately to retain the stronger branches. If the whole plant is too dense, you can also cut off the smaller branches.

During the flowering period, if flowers bloom on the lower half (close to the soil) of the glass jade, they must be picked off in time and not allowed to remain. This will allow the number of flowers in the upper half to gradually increase and the flowers to bloom one after another.

Glass Jade is a perennial plant, so after each flowering, the flowers will gradually become more and more sparse. At this time, you have to forcibly cut off all the sparse flowers. Some friends may be very reluctant to do so, thinking that the flowers are already sparse, so why cut them all off? If you prune it and then apply proper fertilizer, the glass jade will bloom more abundantly next time.

Tips

Glass Jade grows relatively fast and has vigorous growth, so there is no need to worry when pruning it. You can prune it boldly. Even if you are not satisfied with the final shape of the plant, give it some time and it will recover.
