The reproduction method of red scale syzygium

The reproduction method of red scale syzygium

Reproduction method

There are three ways of reproduction of Syzygium wilfordii. Let’s look at them one by one. The first thing is the method of sowing. The seeds selected should be from healthy and vigorous plants, and the more seeds they produce, the better. When the fruits of the red-scaled guava are ripe, they are broken open to leave the fresh seeds inside. After cleaning and screening, they are dried and sealed in bags for later use.

sowing

Before planting seeds, the soil is subjected to a series of treatments to ensure that seeds are sown under conditions suitable for planting. Sow the stored seeds, and pay attention to the temperature and humidity conditions during this period. Generally, in the south where the temperature is higher, the sowing time can be a little later, which is conducive to the survival of the seeds. In South China and other places, spring is the most suitable time for sowing. The seeds should be soaked before sowing to help the seedlings break out of the shells normally.

Cutting propagation

The advantage of the cutting method is that the red-scaled syzygium can take root quickly, and this method is relatively efficient. Select healthy branches and trim the part inserted into the soil into a sharp shape so that it can take root faster. At the same time, cut the exposed part into a flat shape to enable the branches to reproduce better. The seedling field for planting needs to be disinfected, and a layer of fine sand should be sprinkled on the soil surface to ensure both air permeability and drainage. In the hot weather of summer, the amount of water evaporation is large. At this time, proper moisturizing treatment can be carried out, and covering with straw mats can play a good role.

Grafting

The last method is grafting. The advantage of this method is that it can be done at any time. Try to avoid the rainy season when grafting to ensure the success of the grafting. Before grafting, you should also choose healthy branches. Then you can prune the selected branches, trim the contact end into a step shape, and then trim the part of the rootstock that is close to the ground to match the branch. After aligning the two ends, wrap them around, and then water and sprout. Just prevent diseases.
