Breeding methods and precautions of Gypsophila paniculata

Breeding methods and precautions of Gypsophila paniculata

1. Maintenance methods

1. Flower pot selection: A ceramic pot with good air permeability is preferred. In the early stage of planting, you can choose a flower pot with smaller capacity. You can change to a larger pot when the plant grows up. The shape of the flower pot can be selected according to personal preference.

2. Substrate selection: Gypsophila paniculata is tolerant to barrenness and has low requirements for soil. If conditions are good, you can choose nutrient soil. In order to allow its roots to grow better, it is best to choose soil with relatively good air permeability and water permeability, such as peat soil and leaf mold.

3. Temperature management: It can withstand cold weather but is not adapted to hot environments. The temperature in winter cannot be lower than minus 5℃, and in summer it cannot be higher than 28℃. 15℃ is its optimal growth temperature. Also, try to avoid large temperature differences during its growth process.

4. Water management: Adequate water can make the whole plant grow better. Watering should be regular. Generally, it can be watered every 2-3 days. Try to water at noon, and reduce the number of watering times before flowering.

2. Breeding techniques

1. Sowing: Choose the right seeds before sowing, and remember not to choose baby's breath for cut flowers. It is cold tolerant and does not like high temperatures, so fall is a good time to plant. Generally speaking, the fresher the seeds, the higher the germination rate. After selecting the seeds, sow them and wait for them to germinate.

2. Planting: Because its seeds are small, the seedlings germinate in clusters, so it is necessary to divide them. Eliminate weak plants or those in poor growth condition, and plant healthy and strong plants in larger pots.

3. Problem diagnosis and treatment

1. Root rot: It grows better in soil with good air permeability and strong drainage. If the soil is too sticky, it will affect the breathing of the roots. Secondly, excessive and frequent watering may also cause root rot, so pay more attention.

2. Red spider mites: In the hot summer, gypsophila paniculata is prone to diseases and pests. Normally, you should clean the yellow leaves in time. When you find red spiders on the plants, you should promptly spray the leaves with Huachongjing or Sumishading mixed with water.

IV. Other issues

1. Can it be grown at home: The plant is highly ornamental, and the ideal flower shape after growth is spherical. The colors of the flowers are pink and white, which are very pleasing to the eye, so it is very suitable to be grown at home.

2. Can it be grown outdoors: Yes, it can be grown outdoors. It likes light. The longer the light time, the better the flowers bloom, but it must be avoided from the scorching sun in summer.
