How to keep potted lilies alive in winter

Wintering in the North

Let’s talk about lilies in the north first. In fact, compared with lilies in the south, it is easier for lilies in the north to survive the winter because they are potted plants. They can be placed indoors, but you should pay attention to the following points:

1. The temperature is above 0 degrees (this is not a problem in the north because the indoor temperature is quite warm); in fact, placing it on the windowsill is also a good choice. First of all, the temperature of the sunlight should be above 0 degrees, that is, not too warm, but not too cold.

2. Do not place it near heaters, air conditioner outlets, or stove outlets, as this will wake the lilies from dormancy and affect their flowering period. This is because there must be a 45 to 100-day low temperature period before the lilies bloom to make the flowers bloom more beautifully. The specific low temperature time depends on the variety of lilies.

3. Keep the soil slightly moist and water it appropriately.

Wintering in the South

The so-called southern wintering method also includes places where there are no heating measures. You can cover the lilies with a layer of plastic film. When the weather is good, you can remove the film to let in air and expose them to the sun. When the temperature stabilizes above 0 degrees, the film can be removed.
