The Flower Language and Legend of Albizia Julibrissin

Flower Language

The Albizia Julibrissin is an auspicious flower in my country. It is believed that "Albizia Julibrissin can eliminate resentment and reconcile resentment". Since ancient times, people have had the custom of planting Albizia Julibrissin trees beside their homes and gardens.

The meaning of the Albizia Julibrissin is "reconciliation and family happiness". The Albizia Julibrissin flower symbolizes eternal love and companionship, and is a symbol of love between husband and wife.

The leaflets of the Albizia julibrissin open in the morning and close in the evening. In ancient times, when couples quarreled, they would drink tea made with Albizia julibrissin together after they made up.

People also often give Albizia Julibrissin flowers to quarreling couples, or place them under their pillows, wishing them harmony, happiness and a happier life. If there is a misunderstanding between friends, they can also give each other Albizia Julibrissin flowers, which means to eliminate resentment and reconcile.

legend

In ancient times, there was a village at the foot of Mount Tai. In the village, there was a man named He who had a daughter in his later years and named her Huanxi. The girl was born smart and beautiful, and Mr. He and his wife treated her like the apple of their eye.

When Huanxi was 18 years old, he went to Nanshan to burn incense during the Qingming Festival. When he came back, he had an incurable disease. He was in a trance and had no appetite. He consulted many famous doctors and took a lot of medicine, but none of them worked. Therefore, Mr. He posted a notice, offering a large reward to anyone who could cure the young lady's illness.

There was a scholar in Xizhuang. He was handsome, talented in literature, and proficient in medicine, but he had no money to go to Beijing to take the imperial examination. After seeing the notice, the scholar walked in.

When the scholar saw the young lady, he immediately knew everything about his illness. It turned out that the young lady had met the scholar by chance when she went to Nanshan to burn incense that day and fell in love with him. She missed him day and night after returning home. When he saw the scholar this time, his illness was mostly cured.

So, after taking the girl's pulse, the scholar said, "This young lady is ill due to worry and emotional depression." He also said that there was a tree on the South Mountain, known as the "Affectionate Tree", with pinnate leaves that were opposite each other, and that opened during the day and closed at night. Its flowers were like silk and had a refreshing fragrance that could clear the mind and relieve depression, calm the spirit, and could be boiled in water and drunk to cure the young lady's illness.

After hearing what the scholar said, the official immediately sent someone to go to Nanshan with the scholar to collect this flower. After taking the medicine according to the scholar's instructions, the young lady recovered soon and began to like the scholar even more.

With the financial support of the young lady, the scholar went to Beijing to take the imperial examination, passed the examination and won the heart of the young lady. The day his name was on the list of successful candidates was their wedding night. Later, people called this "loving tree" the Albizia Julibrissin, and the flower was called the Albizia Julibrissin.
