How to change the pot

Before repotting the maidenhair fern, gently tap the edge of the pot with your hands or a wooden stick to soften the soil near the wall of the pot. Then hold the roots of the flower with one hand to support the soil, turn the pot upside down, and use your other hand to turn it to remove it.

After removing the flowerpot, lightly shake the soil around the roots of the plant a few times. The condition of the roots can now be seen at a glance, and the side roots that are not growing well can be cut off.

Then take some new soil and fill the pot, apply some fertilizer, and then plant the maidenhair fern in it. Try not to press it hard to ensure that the soil is breathable and drainable.

After filling the soil, water it to moisten the soil thoroughly, and place the plant in a cool environment for a few days to develop normally.

Repotting time

The maidenhair fern grows relatively fast, so it needs to be repotted every year, usually in the spring when the weather is dry.

At this time, you can mix rotten and withered branches and leaves with a small amount of carbon ash. During the growth period of the maidenhair fern, it should be fully irrigated and its leaves should be sprayed with water mist. The potting soil must maintain the humidity required for normal growth. Too much moisture or too much dryness can easily cause the leaves to change color.

Apply liquid fertilizer to the maidenhair fern every two weeks. When applying fertilizer, try not to let the fertilizer get on the leaves.

Avoid strong sunlight in summer to make the plants look more beautiful.
