How to deal with the cineraria flowers after they fade

Flowering period

Most flowers bloom in spring and summer, but cineraria is different from these flowers. Its blooming season is in winter. During the Chinese New Year period, the most eye-catching flower in the flower market is cineraria. Beautiful bouquets of all sizes will be decorated with a few cineraria plants. It brings bright and vibrant colors and accents to the combined bouquet, which is simply beautiful.

Post-flowering treatment

Even beautiful flowers will wither and die, and cineraria is no exception. But don't throw it away as useless waste. It only needs simple treatment, and it will not only bloom again next year, but you can also harvest a few new pots of cineraria if you are willing.

Collecting seeds

After the flowers of Cineraria fade, the seeds officially appear and then slowly enter the maturity stage. At this time, if the owner plans to breed more seedlings next year, he can collect some Cineraria seeds and sow them when the climate is suitable.

Pruning

The main branches of the cineraria that has bloomed will slowly wither. At this time, the focus of maintenance is to cut off the dry branches and leaves. One thing to remember is not to cut them all off with one knife. Because the branches are hollow, a large amount of water loss will cause excessive damage to the cineraria plant.

Cuttings

After the large branches are cut off, the small branches will have more space to grow, so when the small branches grow one heart and two leaves, they can be used as cuttings. It is really easy to transplant new cineraria.
