Cultivation methods and precautions of Oakleaf Hydrangea

Cultivation methods and precautions of Oakleaf Hydrangea

1. Soil selection:

Because this plant grows quite tall, it is quite picky in its choice of land.

1. It requires the soil to be fertile. There is no room for negotiation. It must be fertile, otherwise it will easily affect its growth and affect its appearance.

2. It also requires a lot of water, but it cannot stay in a land with a lot of water all the time, so proper ventilation must be maintained.

2. Fertilizer requirements:

Although this plant requires very fertile soil for planting, it does not mean that you can just keep adding fertilizer without limit. Therefore, when it is in the growth and development stage, compound fertilizer should be added about once every half a month. In addition, it should be noted that this fertilizer should be mainly nitrogen. The second thing to pay attention to is the amount of application. When it is not the deciduous season, but the plant's leaves turn yellow and fall off, it is probably because too much fertilizer has been applied or because the concentration of the fertilizer is particularly high. At this time, the amount of clean water added should be increased to dilute its concentration. If the situation is serious, the plant should be transplanted.

3. Sunlight:

This plant cannot adapt to long-term sunlight exposure. It is particularly important to note that just like humans need to maintain 8 hours of sleep a day, this plant needs to be in the dark for 10 hours a day.

4. Notes:

1. Watering. Although this plant likes moist soil, it cannot stay in a soil with a lot of water all the time, so make sure the soil is kept dry from time to time. Therefore, when watering, there must not be a lot of stagnant water. If there is any, it must be dealt with in time.

2. Temperature. Growing this plant requires more care because it does not have the same temperature requirements as other plants, which remain stable throughout the growth process. In the early stage of growth, which is roughly the first one and a half months, this plant needs to grow at low temperatures, roughly below 10 degrees. After one and a half months, it should be placed at normal temperature, roughly around 20 degrees.

3. Sunshade. Because this plant does not like sunlight so much, you must ensure that its light exposure time does not exceed 1 hour at the beginning, but when it grows to about 3 months, you can appropriately increase its exposure to sunlight time.
