The propagation method of golden butterfly paper mulberry: cutting propagation

The cutting methods are divided into hard branch cuttings and soft branch cuttings. The survival rate of softwood cuttings is higher, so this method is widely used. There are two specific cutting methods: shade cutting and full-light fog cutting seedling cultivation.

Shade cuttings

It is usually carried out in summer, using semi-lignified green branches as cuttings under a shade shed. The cuttings are selected to be 6cm-15cm in length with buds and leaves retained, and have 2 to 4 branches. It is recommended to insert the cuttings shallowly, with the depth being about one-third of the length of the cuttings. After cuttings, spray water frequently, but not too much. Be careful to prevent the cuttings from being exposed to the sun and provide shade. The cuttings can be ventilated 4-5 days after insertion, and the covering can be gradually removed after half a month. After rooting, pay attention to ventilation and light intensity.

Full light fog cutting seedling cultivation

The time for cuttings is from June to August. The substrate can be river sand, perlite, or a mixture of peat, perlite and vermiculite in a certain proportion. The cutting method is roughly the same as shade shed cutting.

The propagation method of golden butterfly paper mulberry: grafting propagation

The survival rates of bud grafting and branch grafting are both very high. Choose suitable tree species for grafting. Branch grafting is carried out in spring, and the grafting position is approximately 2-3 cm from the ground. Bud grafting is carried out in summer and autumn, and the grafting height is less than 8 cm. Tie it tightly with plastic film, remove the buds on the rootstock in time, and remove the plastic film after it is fully healed.
