Hydroponics is becoming more and more popular, especially for people in cities. More and more people are using hydroponic garlic in their daily lives. So, how to grow garlic hydroponically? What are the methods and precautions for growing garlic hydroponically? Garlic hydroponic planting method1. Select garlic Peel the garlic slices, then peel the garlic slices and put them into a container (suitable for smaller containers). You can also peel off the outermost skin of the garlic head, directly exposing the garlic cloves, and put them into a container (can be placed in a larger container)! 2. Carry out hydroponics Then add water directly and immerse the garlic in it, which is conducive to rooting. Usually change the water every 1 to 2 days and keep the water fresh. In the initial stage, you can keep the water for three consecutive days to facilitate fixation. After the roots are firmly established, the water can be changed more frequently. Usually, after hydroponics, roots will grow in one day and green color will appear in 2 to 4 days. 3. Hydroponic time The best time period is from October to December around autumn. You can carry out hydroponic cultivation 3-4 times before the Spring Festival of the following year. Each round can last 40-50 days, ensuring that you can continuously enjoy the garlic sprouts from late autumn to early spring. Precautions for hydroponic garlic1. Temperature Garlic cloves are best grown in temperatures between 10 and 25 degrees Celsius. Place them in a sunny location. If there is insufficient light, the color of the garlic leaves will be lighter. In comparison, dark green leaves taste better. 2. Garlic selection The bulb at the root of garlic is where the roots will grow in the future. If there is no bulb, it will not take root and grow leaves. Peel them one by one, and each clove must have a bulb. Be careful when peeling not to damage the garlic. If there is any damage, it will rot and mold. 3. Container selection You can use a hydroponic container, which holds the garlic cloves in place better, or a vegetable basket; place the garlic cloves neatly in the basket with the bulb facing down, and don't crowd them too much, as they will swell a bit when exposed to water. Don't change the water at first, just add water to avoid making a mess. 4. Change water regularly Find a container of suitable size, pour clean water into it, and make sure the water surface is in contact with the surface of the bulb. Roots will grow after about 4 or 5 days and it can be replaced regularly thereafter. Generally speaking, the garlic can be harvested in about 30 days. Cut off the garlic and wait for the next growth. The garlic will easily emit odor during the growth period, so you can change the water frequently to remove the odor. 5. Picking When each plant has 2 or 3 leaves, it is the most suitable time to harvest, so you can harvest 5 or 6 times. When a single plant has 5 or 6 leaves, the number of harvests will be reduced. Clean up rotten and shriveled garlic cloves in time; at the same time, use clean tap water and there is no need to add nutrient solution. The nutrients of the garlic cloves come from the garlic heads. |
