Seed propagation of honeysuckle

In autumn, pick the ripe fruits of honeysuckle, rub the seeds in clean water to remove the peel and impurities, fish out the plump seeds that sink to the bottom of the water, dry them and store them. In autumn, you can sow as soon as you harvest. When sowing in spring, you can use the sand storage method to treat the seeds and wait until the spring thaws before sowing.

When sowing, first dig furrows on the seedbed, spread the seeds evenly in the furrows and cover them with shallow soil. Generally, seedlings will emerge in about ten days. After the seedlings emerge, management should be strengthened and they should be planted in the fields.

Cutting propagation of honeysuckle

Cuttings can be used for propagation during the growth period of the honeysuckle vines. Select vigorously growing branches, cut them into branches of equal length, remove the leaves, and soak the cuttings in plant hormones before cutting.

When cutting, at least one bud should be exposed above the soil surface. After compacting the soil, water it thoroughly. Generally, it will take about a month for the seeds to take root and sprout.
