Gardenia

Cut off branches that grow too fast. Some branches of gardenia will grow very long and be disconnected from the whole plant, so you need to cut off the growing part. For example, the circled part in the picture below needs to be cut off.
Cut off dense and overlapping branches. If the branches are too dense, they will block the sunlight, hinder ventilation, and breed bacteria. Therefore, once the branches of gardenia are too dense, some of the inner branches should be cut off. For example, in the picture below, the part where Huahua is marked with a red line has dense branches and leaves, so you can cut off the overlapping branches inside.
Cut off some of the leaves around the flower buds. Some gardenias have layers of leaves around the flower buds. These leaves will compete with the flower buds for nutrients, so they should be removed in time after being discovered. For example, the red part in the picture below is the covered flower bud. After cutting off the leaves, the flower bud becomes very obvious.
Three-fork nine-top pruning method 1. When pruning for the first time, you must determine where you want the branches to grow. If you want to use it as the main trunk, try to choose buds that grow vertically upward. See the figure below for trimming positions.
2. The same applies when trimming for the second time. See the picture below for the specific trimming positions.
3. If it is an extension branch of the main branch, the pruning position is as shown in the figure below.
4. The final effect is as shown below.

Rose

Cut off diseased branches. Summer is the peak season for various rose diseases and pests. If you find signs of disease on a branch, cut off the branch in time, bury it far away, or burn it. Then spray the rose plants with carbendazim or other agents, making sure to spray all of them for disinfection.
Cut off the long branches. After a spring of vigorous growth, the rose will have many long branches. These branches not only waste nutrients, but also have low quality of flowering, so they need to be cut off. As long as you find that the rose has very long branches, you can cut them off directly. For example, the branches in the picture are particularly tall.
Huahua has already mentioned before that we should prune off the dense branches and the diseased branches. Why do some branches become sick? Because the branches are too dense! Poor ventilation, coupled with high humidity in summer, leads to bacterial growth and disease.
Therefore, if we cut off some of the dense branches inside the rose to enhance ventilation and promote water evaporation, the possibility of disease infection will be greatly reduced. For example, in the rose in the picture below, the white part in the middle needs to be properly cut off, and the overlapping parts should be cut off~ Cut off the withered flowers and flower buds. In summer, many roses have already withered, so the withered flowers should be cut off in time to avoid leaving them on the branches and consuming more nutrients. Although some roses will bloom in summer, the flowers blooming in summer are generally not very beautiful. Therefore, it is best to pinch off the flower buds when you find them, preserve the nutrients, and wait for them to bloom in autumn.
Cut off the dead leaves and try to keep the healthy leaves. Because the temperature is high in summer, the evaporation of roses will increase. Therefore, when pruning, just cut off the leaves that have turned yellow and withered, and try to keep all the normal leaves.

Kalanchoe

Cut off the withered flowers. Kalanchoe will go dormant in summer, so the withered flowers must be cut off in time. Leaving them on will consume a lot of nutrients! When pruning, you can cut off the pedicel directly, or you can cut it off together with the pair of leaves under the pedicel. If you cut them off together, it can promote the sprouting of side branches. Please see the picture below for the trimming position.
If the Kalanchoe is relatively thin, you can prune it hard in summer after the flowers fade and before July, leaving only a main trunk of about 3 cm. Cut off all the others, even the leaves. After the summer dormancy period, new branches and leaves will begin to sprout! The appearance after trimming can be seen in the picture below.

Jasmine

Cut off the withered flowers After the jasmine flowers fade, count 2 to 3 pairs of leaves from the bottom up, and then cut them off, leaving only 2 to 3 pairs of leaves on all the branches. (Author: Yue Ying You Zhu, Source: Jasmine Bar) Cut off half of the leaves of jasmine flowers with flower buds, and cut off more than half of the leaves near the flower buds, in order to reduce the consumption of nutrients by the leaves, so that all the nutrients can be concentrated on the flower buds.
Cut off branches that are too long. Branches that are too long are also called leggy branches. Leggy branches not only affect the overall aesthetics of jasmine, but also consume nutrients, which is not conducive to the growth of jasmine. Therefore, they need to be cut off. The cutting position is marked by the red line.

Bougainvillea

Cut off weak branches and thin branches. Very thin branches need to be cut off completely. Leaving them on is a pure waste of nutrients. Therefore, you must be ruthless and cut off all the thin branches! For example, the bougainvillea in the picture below has too many branches and they are too thin, so you need to be ruthless and cut them heavily, leaving only the main trunk. Before pruning▼
After trimming▼
Cut off improperly growing buds and flower buds. Some buds that grow inward instead of outward need to be cut off. Overly dense flower buds also need to be cut off to avoid competition for nutrients. In addition, the flower buds must also be cut off after flowering. For example, in the picture below, after the flowers have withered, just cut them all off from the red line!
(Author: Enjoy it Source: Sina Blog) When the bougainvillea sprouts, it is necessary to pinch the top of the bougainvillea. Keep four from six, that is, when the sprouts grow 6 leaves, remove the top 2 leaves and pinch the top! This is the red line part in the picture below.

Geranium

Cut off the withered flowers. Summer is here, and geraniums have basically withered. After flowering, the geranium stalks should be cut off to avoid consuming more nutrients. The trimming parts are shown in the figure below.
(Author: Ice and Snow Plumblossom Source: Sina Weibo) Cut off the old and yellow leaves at the bottom. The old and yellow leaves at the bottom are no longer of any use to geraniums. Leaving them on the leaves will waste nutrients, so they must be cut off. For example, the yellow leaves in the picture below and the leaves in the flowerpot at the bottom can all be cut off.
Cut off the dense branches. Some geraniums grow very vigorously, and the leaves are all crowded together. Such densely growing geraniums should also be pruned and thinned to prevent the leaves from being crowded together and poor ventilation, which can cause bacteria to grow and lead to black rot.
In the picture below, the overlapping leaves need to be cut off! Well, I have introduced how to prune flowers in summer. If you still want to know, you can leave a message to Huahua.
