How to cultivate cyclamen during its dormant period

How to cultivate cyclamen during its dormant period

1. Reduce watering

When it is in its dormant period, you should water it with a small amount of water when the weather turns cooler in September to keep the soil in the pot moist at all times to meet its water requirements.

2. Repot and change soil in time

At this time, you should also repot and change the soil in time. First, pour the old bulb out of the original pot, remove the old soil next to it, and replace the soil again. When changing the soil, be sure not to damage its new roots, just remove the necrotic roots.

3. Disinfect the bulbs

After taking out the bulb, soak it in disinfected water for 10 minutes to disinfect it and prevent bacterial infection. Then you can take it out and put it in a cool place to dry. Then you can replant it in the pot. This will stop it from dormancy and wake up quickly.

4. Planting

When planting it, do not plant it too deep. The top of the bulb should be exposed outside the soil. The soil in the pot does not need to be compacted to promote its quick growth.

5. Post-maintenance

After planting the bulb, spray it with water twice in time. After that, just keep the soil in the pot moist and ensure that one-third of the bulb is exposed outside the soil. When raising it in the later stage, in order to prevent diseases, you can spray some medicine appropriately. Then, in order to maintain its beautiful appearance, we can also adjust the plant shape appropriately and remove the yellow leaves to allow it to grow well.
