Division method

Planting time: Any time except winter.

Specific operation: Separate the oil-spotted lily from the bulb, remove the old and dead leaves, and plant them separately.

Specific operation: Use a brush to help pollinate the oil-spotted lily when it blooms. Pick the seeds after they mature and sow them in a well-drained seedbed. The oil-spot lily does not require much fertilizer, and you can apply a moderate amount of thin fertilizer during the growing period.

Leaf cutting method

Leaf cutting time: spring, summer and autumn.

Specific operation: Select the leaves as cuttings, cut them into 3 cm lengths, and do not water the soil too much to avoid water accumulation.

Matters Needing Attention in Breeding Oil-spot Lily

When there is sufficient light, the plant will grow shorter and fatter. When there is insufficient light, the plant will be elongated as a whole, causing the plant to fall over and lose its ornamental value. But do not expose it to the sun during the hot summer, otherwise the edges of the leaves will easily be scorched, affecting the ornamental effect.

When transplanting oil-spot lily as a potted plant, do not completely bury the bulb when planting it in the new potting soil. Leave it slightly exposed, otherwise it will affect the survival rate.
