The leaves of green radish turn yellow, the roots of succulent plants rot, the buds of gardenia fall off...solve the problem with just one trick!

Green radish yellow leaves

Green ivy is a foliage plant commonly grown in households. It has beautiful green leaves and can effectively purify the air and absorb harmful substances. When decorating your home, you like to grow a few pots of it. So if the leaves of the green radish turn yellow, what is the main reason and how to solve it?

1. Improper watering

Pothos is a water-loving plant and must be guaranteed sufficient water during its growth period. Especially now that summer has arrived and the temperature is getting higher and higher, the demand for water of Pothos is also increasing. If watering is not timely, the Pothos will wilt, and the leaves will turn yellow.

But you can't water it too much. If the roots are always soaked in mud and water, they will not breathe well and the leaves will turn yellow.

Solution:

If the yellowing is caused by lack of water, the leaves will look wilted, the edges will turn yellow, and the soil will be very dry. At this time, replenish water to the green radish in time and water it thoroughly at one time.

Yellowing caused by excessive watering means that the soil is very moist, the leaves have too much water, and the new leaves shrink. In this case, you should quickly move the green radish to a ventilated place to speed up the evaporation of water. When the soil in the pot is particularly waterlogged, change the pot and soil immediately.

2. Insufficient nutrients

All flowers require fertilization. If there is not enough fertilizer, the green radish will naturally not have enough ability to grow, resulting in malnutrition. The reflection on the plant is that the leaves turn yellow and become smaller and smaller. So how should we fertilize the green radish correctly? Huahua will briefly introduce two small methods to you:

1. Spray the stems and leaves with beer and water

Mix the leftover beer at home with water in a 1:1 ratio, then spray the leaves of the green radish once every half a month to make the leaves big and bright.

2. Use fermented rice water to water the green radish

Fermented rice water is rich in nutrients and can be used to supplement the energy needed for the growth of green radish. It is also very simple to ferment rice water. Put it in a plastic bottle, add a few orange peels, and then put it in a cool place. It will ferment in about a month. When using, just water the roots at a ratio of 1:10.

3. The light is too weak

Pothos has a certain degree of shade tolerance, but if it is kept in a dark place for a long time without light and without normal photosynthesis, the leaves will easily turn yellow. The best environment is scattered light, such as in the living room or bedroom. Of course, it cannot be exposed to direct sunlight. Too strong light will not only cause the leaves to dry and yellow, but in severe cases, they will be sunburned to death.

Succulent root rot

Succulents do not require much water. Many flower lovers have their succulents rot in the roots, mostly due to over-watering. When we grow succulents, we must give them enough light and a little water to ensure their normal growth. So what should we do if the roots of succulents rot?

1. Remove the succulents from the pot

Take the succulents with rotten roots out of the pot, remove the soil from the roots, clean the rotten parts with scissors or a knife, and only keep the healthy parts.

2. Disinfection with carbendazim

Apply carbendazim to the treated roots, then place them in a cool and ventilated place to dry. About two or three days will be enough.

3. Hair roots

Find a plastic bottle, fill it with water, and then place the succulents at the mouth of the bottle. The moisture from the evaporation of the water will allow the succulents to quickly grow new roots.

4. Put it in the basin

After the roots grow out, you can pot it. Choose a loose and breathable substrate. Do not water it immediately after planting. Wait about a week before watering it.

Gardenia buds falling off

Gardenia has a very fragrant smell and its flowers are white and elegant, which is why people love it. However, flower lovers have also discovered that gardenia buds are particularly easy to fall off, especially newly purchased gardenias, which can fall off at any time. Why is this?

1. The newly bought gardenia buds fall off

Most of the newly bought gardenias still have buds. The sudden change in the environment has a great impact on the gardenia. At this time, the gardenia needs an adaptation process, and the plant itself will also make some changes in order to adapt to the environment. The most obvious change is the falling of buds. This situation is actually unavoidable. What we can do is to place the gardenia in a diffuse light environment, keep the soil moist, and let it slowly adapt to this new home.

2. Too much water

If you find that the fallen flower buds are soft and feel like marshmallows when you pinch them, this is probably caused by over-watering. The flower stalks and receptacles will look a little yellow. Many people think that gardenias cannot be killed by watering and that they love water very much. In fact, except for aquatic plants, no plant can be watered too much. If you find that you have overwatered, put it in a cool and ventilated place to dry immediately.

If you find that the soil in the pot is very moist and there is water accumulation, you need to change the pot for the gardenia.

Remove the gardenia from the pot, remove the soil from the roots, and let it dry for a while. You may notice here that the gardenias we buy in the flower market are usually planted in groups of several. Now you can separate them and plant them in different pots.

Gardenia likes acidic soil and should avoid clay. It must choose loose and breathable soil. Then replant the gardenia into the pot and water it thoroughly after planting. Cut off diseased and weak branches to reduce transpiration, place it in a cool place for a week, and then place it under scattered light.

3. Insufficient fertilizer

When gardenia blooms, it needs sufficient nutrients. If there is insufficient fertilizer, the growth cannot keep up and it is easy to cause buds to fall off. When gardenias are forming buds, you can selectively remove some of them, water them with bean cake fertilizer once a week, and spray some potassium dihydrogen phosphate on the leaves, which can greatly promote the growth of gardenias.

Chlorophytum stem tip

Chlorophytum is very easy to grow. The only drawback is that the leaf tips tend to dry up and turn yellow. The originally vibrant plant immediately becomes less beautiful with some dry tips. So how should we prevent the tips of Chlorophytum from drying up?

1. Maintain high enough humidity

One method is what Huahua often says, which is to spray water on the leaves and around the spider plant. Another method is to pour some water into the spider plant's tray, and then use stones to raise the flower pot and place it on the tray. In this way, the evaporation of water can provide a high enough humidity for the spider plant.

2. Change the pot in time

The fleshy roots of spider plants grow very quickly and can fill the pot in just one or two years, so it is best to repot the spider plants every year. When repotting, you can put some rotten peanut shells at the bottom of the pot, which can not only increase water permeability, but also provide some nutrients for the spider plant.

Rose does not bloom

Now is the time when roses bloom, but many flower lovers have also reported that they haven’t even seen a flower bud. What’s going on and what should they do?

1. The light is too weak

Roses are plants that prefer strong light and grow best when fully exposed to sunlight. If you don't have this condition, try to place it on a south-facing balcony. The stronger the light, the better the rose will bloom. If the light is too weak, only leaves will grow.

2. Long-term lack of pruning

Rose is a woody plant. If it is not pruned for a long time and the branches are messy, it will not be possible to bloom beautiful flowers. So how do you prune roses?

Generally speaking, when pruning in spring, you should cut off the excess side shoots.

After the flowers bloom, the branches can be shortened by one-third to one-half to promote the germination of new buds.

You can do heavy pruning in winter, leaving only strong branches.

3. Insufficient nutrients

For roses grown in pots, add an appropriate amount of organic fertilizer, such as fermented kitchen waste, to the bottom of the pot when repotting every year. During daily maintenance, you can also water the roses with more rice water, fish tank water, etc. to provide sufficient nutrients for the roses.

Clivia does not grow

It has always been a very annoying thing when Clivia grows slowly or not at all. Other people's Clivias have bloomed into flower balls, but my own Clivia doesn't grow a single leaf in a year. So how can we make Clivia grow faster?

1. Change the pot every year

If you want Clivia to grow fast, it is best to change the soil once a year to ensure sufficient nutrients. The soil for growing Clivia must be loose and breathable. You can choose pine needle soil, leaf mold, etc. When potting, apply an appropriate amount of organic fertilizer, chicken manure, bean cake fertilizer, etc. at the bottom of the pot.

2. Apply thin fertilizer frequently

It is necessary to replenish nutrients for Clivia in time every month. You can use bone meal, bean cake water, fish meal, etc., but you must apply thin fertilizer frequently, about once a month. Just dig up the soil in the pot and bury it 2 to 3 cm, but do not touch the root system.

Yellow leaves of asparagus fern

The leaves of asparagus fern are light, lush and green, but they also turn yellow very easily. So how should we prevent asparagus fern from turning yellow?

1. Ensure sufficiently high humidity

When the air is dry, spray more water on the leaves, stay away from TV, air conditioners, and computers. In winter, be careful to stay away from radiators. If you find that the leaves of asparagus fern have dried up and turned yellow, just cut them off.

2. Scattered light is preferred

Asparagus fern is shade-tolerant, but when the light is too shaded or too strong, the leaves will easily turn yellow. When caring for asparagus fern at home, it is best to place it in a bright living room. If placed on the balcony, it needs proper shade in the summer.

3. Watering should be appropriate

Many flower lovers have noticed yellowing leaves of asparagus fern because they water it too little. Asparagus fern likes a warm and humid environment. It should be watered once every four or five days in spring, once every three or four days in summer, and water can be controlled appropriately in winter. If you don't know the watering time, you can insert a toothpick into the soil two or three centimeters and wait for ten minutes. If you see that the toothpick is very dry, then you need to water it.
