How to propagate the bluegrass

How to propagate the bluegrass

Indigofera fruit collection and deseeding

Collect fully mature blue pods of the flowering tree in September and October, then dry them in the sun. After the peel is dry, put on gloves and rub the seeds to remove the seed coat. Pick out the debris in the seeds and put them in a woven bag for dry storage.

Blue flower bed

Although indigofera is not demanding on soil, choosing sandy loam with good air permeability is beneficial to the growth of the plant. Choose a flat place for a raised bed, either in a north-south or east-west direction. Sprinkle farm animal and poultry manure or cake fertilizer on the bed surface, turn the bed surface 15~20cm deep, mix the soil and fertilizer thoroughly, and then water it.

Indigofera Seed Treatment

One week before sowing, soak the seeds in water at about 50℃. Pour out the water the next day, mix the sand with the seeds, put them into a woven bag, place them in a place with a humidity of about 25%, and wait for germination. You can also soak the seeds in water at about 30°C for 24 hours, and cover the seeds with burlap or old quilts the next day to promote germination. After that, use warm water to sow the seeds once every morning until they germinate and are ready for sowing.

Blue Flower Seedlings

Sow seeds in mid-April to early May, and dig about 4cm deep furrows on flat land with a distance of about 25cm. Sow the seeds in the trench with a spacing of about 3 to 4 cm. Then cover with soil with a thickness of 2 to 3 cm and pat it down to make it firm. You can also sow directly without creating ridges, that is, spread the seeds evenly on the bed surface and then cover the entire surface with soil 2 cm thick.
I believe that through the hard work and careful care of flower lovers, we can definitely wait for the blue flowers of the flowers to bloom.
