How to propagate Lycoris

How to propagate Lycoris

Seed propagation of Lychnos

Lycoris radiata can be propagated by sowing, and the breeding time is in spring and autumn. Spring sowing is generally carried out in March to April, while autumn sowing is in August to September. In northern regions, sowing can be carried out in greenhouses.

When sowing camphor, you can choose relatively loose soil. Generally, you can choose a sowing bed or a seedling pot, put soil on it and water it enough, then mix the seeds and fine sand and sow them. Be sure to cover the seeds with a layer of soil after sowing.

After sowing, be sure to maintain a suitable temperature. Generally, seedlings will emerge in about 7-10 days. After germination, be sure to keep ventilation. When one leaf grows, you can divide the seedlings. When 5 leaves grow, you can transplant and plant.

Propagation of Lychnos nucifera by division

Lycoris can be propagated by division, which is usually carried out in spring and autumn, and usually once every 2-3 years. Take out the campion plant and divide it into several plants, making sure that each new plant has buds.

Be careful when dividing the plants to avoid breaking the roots.

If you accidentally break many of the roots of the campion, you will need to collect the broken roots, propagate them by root cuttings, and maintain a semi-shady environment. It will be relatively easy for it to survive.
