How to propagate the arrowroot

How to propagate the arrowroot

There are two ways to propagate Arrowroot: division and cutting.

Propagation by division

Division propagation is more commonly used for Arrowroot. Cutting propagation is less common than division propagation. The best propagation temperature of Arrowroot is about 20 degrees Celsius. If division propagation is carried out indoors and the temperature and humidity are well controlled, division propagation can be carried out throughout the year. What are the steps for division propagation? First of all, we need to cut the root pieces with stems, leaves and buds with a knife. If you are planting it at home, you can directly plant the cut root pieces. When carrying out division propagation, you must pay attention to maintaining the planting temperature and humidity.

Cutting propagation

Cutting propagation is also a method of propagation for Arrowroot. Although it is not as widely used as division propagation, it is also an important method of propagation for Arrowroot. Cutting propagation generally uses the tenderer tips of the plant as cuttings. The length of the cuttings is most suitable between 10 cm and 16 cm. And keep the leaves according to the actual size of the leaves, about half of the leaves. The cuttings should be treated with naphthaleneacetic acid first, and then inserted into the seedbed. Pay attention to maintaining the row spacing. After planting, cover them with a film. The management method of cutting propagation is the same as that of division propagation. The best temperature for cutting propagation is 20 degrees Celsius, and the cuttings will take root about 40 days after the cuttings are completed.
