Flowering Period and Control of Lychnophora

Flowering Period and Control of Lychnophora

Flowering control of Lychnos nucifera - sowing

The flowering period of lychnos nucifera can be controlled by oneself. Generally, the sowing method is adopted, and then the sowing time is changed to advance or delay the flowering period of lychnos nucifera.

When sowing campion, if it is sown in autumn, it will generally bloom in May. The spring-sown lycium will bloom in June. However, when the campion grows, changing the strategy can change its flowering time. If the autumn-sown campion is transplanted in early spring in March, it will bloom at the end of May. If it is transplanted once after transplanting, its flowering period can be delayed to July. If it is transplanted again, its flowering period can be further delayed.

Flowering control of Lychnos nucifera - pruning

In addition, pruning can also change the flowering period of campion. Generally, pruning can make the campion bloom a second time or achieve other purposes.

First of all, when growing campion, you need to pinch the top of the plant in time in the early stages of its growth, when the plant reaches 20 cm. At this time, at least 7-8 pairs of leaves should have grown. This can increase branching and the number of flowers. If you pinch the tips of the plants multiple times, you can delay flowering and achieve the goal of postponing the flowering period.

Secondly, you can prune it after it blooms in June so that it can bloom again in October.

Finally, cut off the above-ground part in late autumn and early winter, and it will bloom again next year.
