Selection of flowerpots and soil for planting spiderwort

When we choose a flowerpot for planting spiderwort, we should consciously choose a flowerpot with a shallower depth. It is best to have a waterproof layer at the bottom of the pot, so that its drainage performance can be better. After preparing the flower pots, we need to prepare the soil. The soil can be prepared by yourself. It should have good drainage and sufficient fertility. To achieve this effect, we usually mix peat soil, leaf mold and river sand.

How to plant spiderwort in a pot

After preparing these, you can plant the spider grass cuttings in pots. When transplanting, be careful not to damage the roots of the spider grass. The roots will easily burn after contact with fertilizer, so be sure to avoid fertilizer when transplanting spider grass. After planting the spider grass into the soil, water it immediately and make sure the soil is watered thoroughly so that the roots of the newly transplanted spider grass can blend with the new soil. Then you can carry out normal maintenance.

Control of light and water for spiderwort

The leaves of spider grass are relatively delicate. Generally, strong sunlight should not be allowed to directly shine on the leaves of spider grass, as this will cause the leaves to develop slowly and the color of the leaves to be simple, reducing the ornamental value of spider grass. Therefore, we need to place the spiderwort in a place with a certain shade but sufficient light. You can water the spiderwort more in spring and summer, but water it less in winter. Do not allow water to accumulate in the pot, as this will easily cause root rot.

Winter Care for Net Grass

In winter, we need to control the temperature of the growing environment of the spiderwort. If conditions permit, it is best to plant the spiderwort indoors. The temperature of the spiderwort planting environment must not be lower than 13°C in winter. If the temperature is lower than this, the spiderwort will freeze to death. We should reduce watering in this season and the temperature of the water should not be too low. We can cover the spiderwort with plastic bags, which is helpful for keeping warm. However, this low temperature and humid environment can easily cause root rot of the spiderwort. We must pay attention to prevention and control and stop the loss in time.
