Cutting propagation method of five-color plum

Water cuttings of five-color plum

The five-color plum can be propagated by water cuttings, so what should we do?

First, we need to choose a healthy branch of plum blossom, which is about to bloom. The length of the branch is about ten centimeters. After obtaining the branch, remove the leaves at the bottom of the branch and only keep a few leaves at the top. Then insert the prepared branches into the water, and then place the cuttings in a cool and ventilated place. After the branches grow aerial roots, they can be transplanted into the soil.

Soil cuttings of five-color plum

The preparation of the branches of the five-color plum for cuttings in the soil is the same as that for cuttings in water. After preparing the branches, insert them into the soil. Note that the soil should be relatively moist but not waterlogged, which is conducive to the rooting of the branches. After cuttings, the branches should also be placed in a cool and ventilated place.

Maintenance of five-color plum after cutting

Whether the five-color plum is planted in soil or water, it takes about ten to fifteen days for the cuttings to grow roots. After the cuttings have taken root, we need to use some auxiliary tools such as wooden chopsticks to transplant the branches, and then transplant them into the prepared cultivation soil.

The transplanted five-color plum should be watered sufficiently and the potted plants should be placed in a relatively cool and ventilated place. As the five-color plum grows, it should be gradually given sunlight. It usually takes three months for the five-color plum to survive and bloom after the cuttings are completed.
