How to grow Pyracantha to get more flowers and fruits

Suitable habitat for Pyracantha

Pyracantha is a subtropical plant that grows well in an environment with plenty of sunlight, warmth and humidity, and long sunshine hours. Therefore, in order to achieve the effect of more flowers and fruits, the plants should be placed in the open air or in a well-lit place on the balcony to ensure more than 4 hours of sunlight per day. Pyracantha is not very demanding on the soil, but in order to achieve the goal of more flowers and fruits, it should be cultivated in deep, loose, organic-rich, fertile, slightly acidic soil.

How to fertilize Pyracantha

Before Pyracantha blooms, more phosphorus and potassium fertilizers should be applied to promote vigorous growth of the plant; during the flowering period, in order to increase fruit yield and quality, appropriate potassium dihydrogen phosphate aqueous solution can be applied.

How to water Pyracantha

Pyracantha is drought-resistant. The soil should be kept dry during the flowering period and do not water it too much. Avoid excessive watering of the plant causing flower drop.

How to prune Pyracantha

The most critical step in ensuring that the Pyracantha bonsai can have more flowers and fruits is to do a good job of pruning. During the flowering period of the plant, while pursuing the quantity of flowers, the quality of the flowers should also be ensured. Therefore, overly lush flower branches or small flowers should be pruned; similarly, overly dense fruits on fruit branches should also be appropriately pruned. This will not only concentrate nutrients and increase the number of flowers and fruits, but also ensure the quality of flowers and fruits.

Follow the above steps and you don’t have to worry about your Pyracantha not blooming and bearing fruit!
