Why prune?

The pruning of desert rose is very important. If you don't pay attention to pruning it regularly, it will easily lose its ornamental value. After the flowering period is the best time to prune the desert rose, and you can make the choice based on your personal preference. Proper shaping and pruning can ensure that the desert rose plant has a more beautiful shape and is more ornamental.

How to trim

In order to make the tree shape more beautiful, the top buds of the desert rose seedlings should be removed when the plant height is about 10 cm to promote the branching of the desert rose. After the branches grow out, 3 to 5 branches should be left as the main branches. The main branches should be selected in different directions and should have a certain three-dimensional sense. The rest of the branches should be removed. When the main branches grow to a certain height, they need to be shortened. The height retained is determined according to the specifications required for the formed plant.

Select 3 to 4 branches from the main branch as the main side branches. The method of retaining and shortening them is the same as that of the main branch. Afterwards, based on the main side branches, use the same method to cultivate side branches step by step, and then perform about 4 short prunings, the branches will meet the requirements.
