Causes and treatments of yellowing leaves of Lycoris

Causes and treatments of yellowing leaves of Lycoris

1. The soil environment is too alkaline

1. Reason: Inappropriate pH causes the leaves of Lycoris to turn yellow. It likes slightly acidic soil, and the best soil pH value is between 6-7. If the soil or water is alkaline, the leaves will fade, turn yellow, or even fall off.

2. Treatment method: The simplest way is to water it with fermented rice water or rainwater, or change the soil and pot immediately. This is also the fastest way. Just be careful not to damage its roots during the potting process.

2. Unsuitable light and temperature

1. Reason: It is a shade-loving plant and can withstand a maximum temperature of about 24 degrees Celsius. Yellow leaves may appear in an environment with high temperature and strong light. In a shady environment, too little light can also cause yellow leaves.

2. Treatment method: In northern areas, try to grow it indoors and give it a certain amount of light exposure time. In the high temperatures of summer, it is necessary to cool it down and provide shade in time. You can set up shade nets, spray water to cool it down, move it to an air-conditioned room to cool it down, and other measures.

3. Improper fertilization

1. Reason: It needs a certain amount of fertilizer to provide it with nutrition. If too little fertilizer is applied, it will have yellow leaves due to lack of nutrition. It likes humus, but too much fertilizer will also cause the old leaves to turn yellow.

2. Treatment method: Get rid of the yellow leaves in time. If there is too little fertilizer, you can apply appropriate topdressing until the leaves get better. Do not use too much fertilizer. If there is excess fertilizer, you can remove the plant from the pot and flush it to cause the nutrients to be lost. Or repot.
