How to breed Pinus jihongensis

How to breed Pinus jihongensis

Cuttings

This is the main way to propagate Pinus jimensis. Cut a sturdy 5-6 cm branch, remember to remove the leaves 1 cm from the end of the branch, and then insert it into the culture soil, about 1 cm deep. Compact the soil to help stabilize the cuttings, spray some water on it to moisten the soil and cuttings, then put them in a plastic bag. Remember to check whether the bag opening is well sealed, and then put it in a semi-sunny place. This is just the beginning. Remember to open the plastic bag frequently to check the situation, ventilate the soil, and spray some water if the soil is dry to keep it moist.

After it takes root, don't forget to slowly open the bag so that it can slowly adapt to the outside. After a week, you can remove the plastic bag and carry out normal management. In fact, propagation by cuttings is not difficult at all. Don't be afraid of trouble. It is very easy if you put in more effort.

Hydroponics

Prepare pure perlite and bottles, cut off 2-3 cm branches, and then insert them into the perlite. Fill the bottle with water and make sure the water does not soak the branches. The bottom of the branch should just touch the water, then seal the bottle mouth to see the scattered light. Remember to open the bottle cap frequently to ventilate and keep it moist. It will take a week for the plant to take root. Then it should be potted immediately and watered every day. Then you can manage it normally after one to two weeks. Remember not to rush to water it. Wait until the soil surface is dry before watering slowly.
