How to make cactus bloom

To promote the flowering of cactus, we should pay attention to the following aspects when cultivating it:

Light and temperature: Cactus requires plenty of sunlight. If you often keep the cactus indoors for a long time and lack sunlight, it will not bloom. Cactus needs to live in a warmer environment. If the ambient temperature does not reach above 20 degrees, it will not bloom.

Watering: Cactus likes a dry living environment. Do not water it too much and do not make the soil in the pot too wet. It is better to keep it dry than wet. Especially during the dormant period in winter and summer, watering should be controlled.

Fertilization: Although cactus is resistant to barrenness and drought, it is difficult for it to bloom when there is both drought and lack of fertilizer. Therefore, appropriate water and fertilizer should be given during cultivation, and thin, decomposed cake fertilizer should be applied every 10 days to half a month during the growing season. Do not apply too much fertilizer, as it will cause the plant to not bloom.

Micro-environment: Pay attention to creating a local environment with suitable temperature and high humidity for the cactus. For example, you can use plastic film to make a closed shed on the windowsill and place the cactus in it for maintenance. It will not only grow faster, but also have bright colors and be easier to bloom.

Cultivation experience of promoting cactus flowering

Place the cactus pot on the balcony with plenty of sunlight and good air circulation. Cover it with a plastic shed before the frost falls every year to ensure it overwinters safely and avoid frost damage. After the Spring Festival and before Qingming Festival, because the ball is large and has thorns, it is not easy to change the pot, so you should remove the old soil and replace it with fertile soil made of 15% chicken manure, 10% bean cake, 10% old lime, 5% wood ash, 5% sawdust, 15% coarse sand or honeycomb coal slag, and 40% garden soil. During the growing season, add fertilizer and water in time, use bean cake liquid and fish fertilizer water as topdressing, add 0.2% potassium dihydrogen phosphate root spray, or apply phosphorus and potassium fertilizers, and follow the principle of watering thoroughly when the soil is dry.
