How to fertilize the rue

Adequate nutrients

Before raising dewberry, you must be aware that it is a fertilizer-loving plant and requires relatively sufficient nutritional conditions, otherwise it will easily grow poorly. There is a lack of nutrients, so don't even harvest the flowers, even the leaves are wilting.

Fertilization frequency

The rudbeckia enters its growing season in May and should be fertilized once every half a month thereafter. Before flowering, use nitrogen fertilizer as the main fertilizer, and after flowering, add phosphorus and potassium fertilizers. Choose diluted liquid fertilizer and avoid over-concentrating the fertilizer. Fertilizer that is too concentrated can cause weeds to grow and the rudbeckia to only grow leaves but no flowers.

Soil Improvement

The natural nutrients in the soil are what the daisy needs most, but after planting for a period of time, the nutrients in the soil have been almost consumed, and it is time to improve the soil. The usual practice is to add nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium fertilizers to the soil in a ratio of 5:10:10, or add a small amount of organic matter, such as weed-free straw, lawn clippings or well-rotted compost.

After improving the soil, not only can the nutrients in the soil be increased, but the structure of the soil can also be changed to a certain extent, which is more conducive to plant growth.

Fertilization precautions for Luwei flowers

weeding

A lot of weeds will easily grow around the rudbeckia, so they need to be cleaned up regularly. Especially for sown seedlings, seedlings and grass often grow together, which will consume a lot of nutrients. Therefore, on the premise of distinguishing weeds from seedlings, clean up the weeds. But if you can't tell the difference, don't rush to remove it, so as to avoid removing it by mistake.

Watering

Combine watering with fertilization. Regardless of the concentration of fertilizer, you must be prepared for subsequent watering. Generally, watering is done the day after fertilization. On the one hand, it can promote nutrient absorption, and on the other hand, it can avoid fertilizer damage caused by excessive fertilization.
