How to sow blue star flowers

Seed selection

Selecting seeds before sowing is an important step for successful sowing.

Before sowing blue star flowers, you need to select seeds harvested that year. The selection criteria for the seeds are that the grains are full, without deformities, and free from diseases and insect pests.

After selecting the seeds, they need to be disinfected. Generally, they can be disinfected by soaking them in hot water at about 60℃.

Flower seed germination

Blue star flowers need to be germinated before sowing, which is conducive to germination.

The method of germination is to soak the seeds in warm water for a period of time, about 12 to 24 hours, until the seeds absorb water and swell.

sowing

Prepare the soil and place it in the pot. Place the seeds on the soil in the flowerpot, one by one. Then put the sowing pot into water. The depth of the water should be 1/2 to 2/3 of the height of the pot. Let the water slowly seep up and soak the soil. After that, you can use a sprayer or fine-hole sprinkler to water the plants. After sowing, water the plants in moderation. Be careful not to water too hard to avoid washing away the seeds that have not yet taken root.

manage

After sowing the blue star flower, you need to wait for it to grow slowly, but you should pay attention to the following points in daily management:

In late autumn, early spring or winter, when the temperature is low or there is a cold current or frost, you can wrap the flower pot with plastic film, or put it in a greenhouse or indoors to keep it warm and moist.

After the seedlings emerge from the soil, they must be exposed to sunlight, otherwise they will grow poorly.

After most of the seeds have emerged, the seed spacing needs to be managed;

Remove the diseased and unhealthy seedlings and leave the healthy and strong seedlings;

When most of the seedlings have grown 3 or more leaves, they can be transplanted.
