Purple flower propagation method: sowingSeeding is a form of sexual reproduction and is mainly used in breeding. The method is: harvest the seeds in autumn and store them until sowing in the spring of the following year. It germinates about 20-30 days after sowing. Proper shading is required during the seedling stage. In autumn, small bulbs have formed in the underground part and can be dug out and planted. Depending on the species, some seedlings will bloom in three years, while others may need to be cultivated for many years before they can bloom. Therefore, this method is not suitable for families. Purple flower propagation method: bulb propagationIf you need to propagate one or several plants, you can use this method. Usually there are some small bulbs growing around the stem disk of the old bulb. When harvesting lilies in September and October, the small bulbs can be separated and stored in sand indoors over the winter. Plant in pots in the spring of the second year. By September or October of the third year, it will grow into large bulbs and be cultivated into large plants. This method produces a small amount of reproduction and is only suitable for home potted plant reproduction. Purple flower propagation method: scale propagationThis method can be used for medium-sized breeding. Dig out the bulbs in autumn, break off the full and thick scales on the old scales one by one. The base of each scale should have a small part of the stem disk. Dry it in the shade slightly, and then plant it in a flowerpot or shallow wooden box filled with river sand (or vermiculite). Insert 2/3 of the scales into the substrate, maintain a certain humidity in the substrate, and under conditions of about 20 degrees, roots will take root at the wounds of the scales in about one and a half months. In winter, the humidity should be kept at around 18 degrees and the river sand should not be too wet. By the spring of the following year, small bulbs will grow from the scales. Separate them and plant them in pots. With careful management, they will bloom in about three years. Purple flower propagation method: bulb bud propagationThe small bulbs formed in the axils of the above-ground stems (also called "bulbulbs", when the bulbils have fully grown but have not yet fallen off in the summer) are removed for cultivation. It usually takes 2-4 years for a bulb to grow into a large bulb and then bloom. In order to promote the growth of more bulbils for reproduction, after the plant blooms, the above-ground stem can be pressed down and shallowly buried in the soil. The above-ground stem can be divided into small segments with 3-4 leaves each, and the stem nodes can be shallowly buried in wet sand. Small bulbils will then grow in the leaf axils. |
