Cyclamen flowering period maintenance measures

Cyclamen flowering period maintenance measures

The flowering period is long, generally from December of each year to May of the following year, and it has a high ornamental value. During the flowering period of cyclamen, paying attention to maintenance measures can extend the blooming time of the flowers. The following points should be noted during the flowering period:

Ensure adequate lighting

Cyclamen likes light, so the potted plants should be placed in a place with sufficient light. Since overlapping leaves will block out light and affect the growth of new leaves and flower buds, the leaves in the center of the leaf group should be pulled outward, or some leaves that are excessive and seriously block the sunlight should be thinned out.

Maintaining the right temperature

Cyclamen cannot bloom normally when the temperature is below 5-6℃, so good insulation measures should be taken.

Moisturizing

In the origin of cyclamen, the flowering period is a warm and humid season, so higher air humidity conditions are required for normal flowering. You can spray water around the plants or put a plastic bag on the pots at night, which not only keeps them moist but also keeps them warm.

Replenish water in time

After Cyclamen enters the flowering period, it needs more water. It is best not to have water shortage in the pot soil, otherwise the flower stems will lose water and fall sideways, the leaves will become dehydrated and wilt, and some leaves will turn yellow. Although the plant can return to its original state after watering, some leaves will turn yellow and flowering will be delayed. The flower stalks will also bend, affecting the ornamental effect.
