Management methods for cyclamen during the budding period

Management of budding period

soil

It is required that peat and perlite with good air permeability be mixed in a certain proportion, the pH value should be 6-6.5, the temperature should be moderate, and not too high.

temperature

The most suitable temperature for cyclamen growth is 20~25℃, but the temperature should be lowered appropriately before germination and controlled at 18℃.

illumination

No light is required during the germination period (about 21 days), all in darkness. The air humidity required for seed germination is 95% (it is best to have a germination room), and the plug tray is covered with plastic film.

Cover

After sowing, cover the seeds with vermiculite or perlite, the thickness of which should just cover the seeds.

Management after germination

Relative humidity

Control it at around 85%, and spray to increase the relative humidity when necessary.

illumination

When the external light intensity exceeds 35KlU, it is recommended to use a shade net or cover the seed tray with non-woven fabric to keep the seeds moist.

Fertilization

According to the growth of seedlings, fertilization should be started from the 5th week after sowing, with the N:P:K ratio of 1:1:1. The leaves of the seedlings should be shiny. If they are dark red, fertilizer is needed.

Watering

When watering, do not flood the soil with water. Use a kettle close to the soil to water. Control the water temperature above 14℃.

Transplanting

Transplant in the 10th to 11th week after sowing. Super micro and mini plants can be directly potted.

1. The substrate should be a mixture of well-breathable peat, a certain proportion of clay (10%) and perlite, with a pH value of 6 to 6.5. The purpose can be achieved by adding appropriate calcium fertilizer to the substrate. Use disposable or easily sterilizable plug trays, and do not use wooden plug trays.

2. The transplanting soil should just cover the roots, leaving the small bulbs exposed. Do not press down on the seedlings and surrounding soil with your hands.

3. Growing Conditions Relative Humidity: Maintain between 65% and 85%, humidity can be increased by misting.
