How to water cyclamen

Watering Mistakes

Too much watering

Cyclamen is a bulbous flower that prefers a semi-shady environment. It seems somewhat contradictory in terms of water absorption. It prefers a humid growing environment, but is afraid of too much water. Therefore, when watering every day, you should water it once a day to keep the soil in the pot moist. At the same time, you must control the amount of water. Do not let water accumulate on the soil in the pot to avoid corroding its roots.

No foliar spraying

The leaves of cyclamen are hairy, so you must not spray water on the leaves, which will cause the leaves to rot. Move them to a sheltered, shady place for maintenance. It requires sandy loam with good soil permeability, and can be prepared according to a certain formula using leaf mold, peat, river sand, mountain mud, etc. Then care for it according to its nature.

Too much water will cause root rot

Watering should be properly controlled. Too much water will cause root rot. Wait until the flowers and leaves are slightly wilted before watering. You can water by soaking the bottom of the pot, but do not pour too much water on the leaves.

Correct watering method

See dry and wet

Cyclamen should be placed in a semi-shaded and cool environment. Remember not to place it on the heater. Keep the soil dry and moist, and ventilate it for about an hour every day.

Pay attention to watering the cyclamen during its flowering period. When watering, it is best to see water overflowing from the bottom of the pot. Do not pour or spray water on the flowers, otherwise it will cause the flowers to rot. When it loses water, it should be placed in a cool place and watered thoroughly. The pH value of the water should be ≤7, that is, neutral to slightly acidic.
