Hydroponic Asparagus fern

Hydroponic Asparagus fern

1. Hydroponic method of asparagus fern

1. Plant processing: When hydroponically cultivating asparagus fern, you must first select a healthy asparagus fern, remove it from the pot, and clean the soil around its roots, which can be washed under running water. If there are old roots, dead roots or rotten roots, they must be cut off and the wounds must be disinfected.

2. Prepare the container: When hydroponically cultivating asparagus fern, it is best to choose a transparent, glass container. The size should be determined according to the size of the plant. You also need to prepare a net. Do not place the plant directly in the water. Or if you find it troublesome, you can also go directly to the flower shop to buy the container, which is generally sold in the flower shop.

3. Place the plant: Prepare a container and put the asparagus fern in it. Place it on the net first to allow the roots to be exposed to water. It is also necessary to provide a warm and well-ventilated environment, and new roots will generally grow in three or four weeks. Please note that the water used should preferably be clean well water or river water. If tap water is used, it must be dried before use.

2. Maintenance methods of hydroponic asparagus fern

1. Change water in time: The water quality must be kept clean during the hydroponic culture of asparagus fern. If the water is found to be polluted, the water must be changed as soon as possible. Before the roots take root, the water is usually changed once a week. After new roots grow, the frequency of water changes should be reduced. When the water is low, just add water in time.

2. Suitable environment: Asparagus fern likes warm environment and has poor cold resistance. It is best to provide an environment of 15 to 25℃. It must be moved indoors after winter, and the minimum temperature must be controlled above 10℃, otherwise it is easy to get frostbite. It is shade-tolerant but not sun-tolerant. It only needs to be exposed to scattered light occasionally during hydroponics, but direct or strong light must be blocked.

3. Topdressing nutrients: The nutrients contained in water are relatively few. If you want the asparagus fern cultivated in water to grow vigorously, you must apply fertilizer frequently. It is best to add nutrient solution to the water once every half a month. You can use a nutrient solution specially for hydroponics. With sufficient nutrition, the plant will naturally grow more vigorously. If no fertilizer is applied for a long time and the plant lacks nutrition, various growth problems may occur.
