When and how to repot Clivia, how to water after repotting

1. Time to change pots

It is best to repot Clivia in spring and autumn, when the climate is mild and cool, not too hot or too cold. After repotting, it can adapt to the pot in a shorter time and will not affect its growth. Be sure to avoid midsummer and severe winter, as this may affect the later growth of the plant.

2. Repotting Method

1. Remove the plant from the pot: When removing the plant from the pot, you can use a small shovel to draw a circle along the inner wall of the pot to separate the soil. Alternatively, you can tap the outer wall of the flower pot to separate the soil from the edge of the pot. Then turn the flowerpot upside down, hold the plant by the rhizome, and take it out carefully.

2. Prune the roots: remove the original soil and check whether the roots are rotten. Empty roots and rotten roots need to be cut off, then disinfected with carbendazim, and then potted after drying.

3. Prepare the potting soil: Prepare the flower pots you need to use. It is recommended to use flower pots with good air permeability and larger than the original flower pots. The soil must also be breathable, otherwise the respiration of the plant's roots will be restricted. The soil can be made of leaf mold, pine needle soil, river sand and base fertilizer.

4. Plant in the pot: Place the Clivia in the middle of the soil, spread out the roots and fill the soil without any gaps. Finally, gently press down the surrounding areas to make it firm.

2. Watering after repotting

After repotting, water it to help it take root, then place it in a cool place to allow it to grow. However, if the roots are not dried when potting, you will need to wait until the pot is dry before adding water.
