1. Origin

It is a perennial herb of the Asteraceae family. Unlike the snow lotus, its origin is in the area near the Andes Mountains in South America. Due to the climatic factors of its origin, it is particularly suitable for growing in sandy loam at an altitude of 1000-2300m. Later, it gradually spread and was also planted in my country. At first, the production areas in my country were warm places such as Taiwan and Yunnan. Later, it was planted in Fujian, Hainan, Hunan, Hubei, Guizhou, Henan, Hebei, Shandong and other places. It can also be seen from the planting area that yacon is suitable for growing in a warm environment, likes moist soil, and the suitable temperature for growth is around 20-30℃.

2. Price

Although yacon is a fruit introduced from abroad, my country has a large planting area and a relatively high yield, so the price is not very expensive. Generally, the price per catty is around 3-5 yuan, which is a common price in the market. The price of yacon varies depending on the origin and quality. Some high-quality fruits are more expensive, selling for more than 20 yuan per kilogram.
