Difference Between Cornflower and Daisy

1. Different plant types

Cornflower is an annual or biennial herb, which is taller than the latter. The plant looks taller, and the entire stem is relatively upright with branches. The height is about 30-70 cm, and may be taller. The plant is covered with grayish-white hairs. Although some low varieties are only about 20 cm tall, they are still taller than the former.

Daisy is an annual or perennial herb with a much shorter plant shape, about 10 cm in height.

2. Different flowers

Cornflower has a capitulate inflorescence with a larger flower shape, more layers of bracts on the petals, and very rich colors, including white, red, blue, purple, etc.

The daisy flower is relatively small, with nearly two layers of bracts, or one layer. The outer layer is white and the center is yellow.

3. Different fruits

The fruit of cornflower is an oval achene, which is relatively small, about 3 mm long and 1.5 mm wide, with fine stripes on it.

The achenes of daisy are relatively flat, with no veins on both sides, or there may be 1 vein.
