Amaranth cultivation methods and precautions

Amaranth cultivation methods and precautions

1. Maintenance methods

1. Light: Amaranth must be given enough sunlight during its growing period so that it will grow fast, otherwise it will grow slowly, so light conditions are essential.

2. Water: The temperature is relatively low in spring and summer, so the amount of water should be controlled to keep the soil slightly moist. In summer, the temperature is relatively high and it needs to be watered frequently. Once it loses water, its roots will die and its leaves will turn yellow.

3. Soil: There are no strict requirements for the selection of soil. Generally, it is sufficient to choose relatively fertile soil, which must also have good drainage.

4. Temperature: It is heat-resistant in nature and will hibernate in winter. The suitable temperature for growth should be between 23 and 27 degrees Celsius. The growth will be slow below 20 degrees Celsius, and the seeds will have difficulty germinating below 10 degrees Celsius.

2. Breeding techniques

1. Sowing: It only takes 3 to 5 days for Amaranth to sprout in summer and autumn. After the sprouts emerge, weeds should be removed in time. In addition, you need to fertilize it, ensure that the soil is not lacking in moisture, and choose relatively fertile soil for sowing. If the soil is not chosen properly, it will be difficult to grow.

2. Summer: In summer, you need to use something like a shade net to provide shade. Cover it during the day and uncover it at night to create a suitable temperature environment that is conducive to the growth of Amaranth. Water appropriately, but don't water too much, which will cause the roots to be waterlogged and die.

3. Problem diagnosis and treatment

1. Yellow leaves: Many people find that the leaves turn yellow when growing Amaranth. It is usually caused by excessive water, which leads to root damage and yellow leaves. As long as you pay more attention to it, it will grow well.

2. Root rot: Amaranth is mainly harmed at the base of the stem. The diseased plants appear to be wilted due to lack of water, and the root cortex rots and falls off, making it impossible to grow new roots. You should water less often in normal times and avoid water accumulation.

IV. Other issues

1. Can it be grown indoors: Amaranth can be grown indoors and can be planted on the balcony. If you sow the seeds in March or April, they will grow lushly soon.

2. Is it poisonous? It is not poisonous, but Amaranth is easily attacked by insects, so pesticides are needed to kill insects and viruses. It is important to note that the fruits must be cleaned after picking.
