Difference Between Daffodil and Hyacinth

1. Different rhizomes

The rhizome of daffodils is relatively slender and much smaller, and the roots underneath grow more evenly, which can distinguish them.

Compared with the former, the rhizome of hyacinth is larger and more round in shape, with rough, cross-root tissue underneath, which looks more like garlic.

2. Different leaves

The leaves of daffodils are relatively flat and slender, with obvious textures and parallel veins. The entire leaf surface is relatively neat and organized, and the tip of the leaf is round.

The leaves of hyacinth are relatively thick, relatively wide and short, and feel full to the touch. There are depressions on the leaves, and the leaf surface is relatively messy, not so organized and neat, and the tip of the leaf is pointed.

3. Different flowers

The flowers of daffodils are scattered, usually solitary at the top. The overall color of the flower is white, and the middle and lower parts are yellow, which is a relatively fresh color.

The inflorescence of hyacinth is distributed in a rod shape, with 10-20 flowers on each inflorescence. The flowers come in many colors, including pink, yellow, blue, etc.
