The difference between black bamboo and asparagus bamboo

The difference between black bamboo and asparagus bamboo

1. Different families

There are essential differences between these two plants. Black bamboo belongs to the Poaceae family, Bamboo genus, and belongs to the Dicotyledonous class.

Asparagus fern is a plant belonging to the Asparagaceae family and the Asparagus genus. It is also called cloud bamboo, mountain grass, and chicken feather ganoderma. It belongs to the monocotyledonous plant class.

2. Different plant types

The main pole of black bamboo is relatively upright, about 3-4 meters in height and about 1.1-3 centimeters in thickness. The surface color of young bamboo poles is green with purple, with a slight white powder. The surface color of old poles is green or gray-green, with cilia on the edges.

The stem of asparagus fern is relatively thin and soft. The height of an adult plant is about 3-6 meters. There are many branches on the stem, which is smooth. However, the asparagus fern that is maintained in daily life is relatively short, and the height of the plant is controlled by artificial methods.

3. Different leaves

The leaves of black bamboo are relatively large, linear or linear-lanceolate in shape, about 5-11 cm long and about 0.9-1.1 cm wide.

The leaves of asparagus fern are relatively small, which matches the overall structure of the plant. The leaf-like branches are distributed in clusters, with about 10-13 pieces in a cluster.
