Radish cultivation methods and precautions

Radish cultivation methods and precautions

1. Maintenance methods

1. Soil: When planting radishes, choose loose and thick soil, because the roots of radishes will be deeper when they grow, so the soil should not be too poor.

2. Water: Water the plants once a week or so after planting. Radishes have a high demand for water. Sufficient water has a great impact on the quality of radishes. Generally, watering is sufficient once every ten to fifteen days, but watering should be stopped a week before the harvest.

3. Nutrients: Fertilizer should be applied once when the seedlings grow out. The best fertilizers are chicken, duck, pig manure, human feces and urine, and chemical fertilizers. However, when applying fertilizer, do not get too close to the roots of the radish seedlings, as this may burn the roots.

4. Sunlight: Adequate sunlight will make the radish sweet and crisp after it grows, so the planting place should be sufficiently sunny.

2. Breeding techniques

1. Pruning: When the radish grows to a certain length, the small weeds in the ground will grow along with the radish seedlings. In order to prevent small weeds from absorbing the nutrients of the radish seedlings, they should be pulled out in time, and the rotten leaves of the radish seedlings should also be cut off.

2. Reproduction: Radish is propagated by sowing. It can be sown in spring, summer, autumn and winter. It can be harvested in about 45-70 days depending on the variety.

3. Problem diagnosis and treatment

1. Pests and diseases: The main pests of radish are aphids, cabbage worms, cabbage borers, and diamondback moths. At this time, it is necessary to spray pesticides on radishes to help kill these small pests. Generally, cypermethrin is used.

2. Prevent hollow radishes: Hollow radishes will appear when the water content is insufficient and the soil lacks nutrients. Watering, irrigation and fertilization should be done in a timely manner to avoid the occurrence of hollow radishes.

IV. Other issues

1. How to survive the winter: In winter, radishes should be planted in greenhouses to ensure the temperature of the greenhouse. If the temperature is too low, the radishes will be frozen and the yield will be affected.

2. Can it be eaten raw? Radishes can be eaten raw. Freshly pulled radishes are crisp, sweet and have a very good taste.
