The cultivation methods and precautions of Yalong wood

The cultivation methods and precautions of Yalong wood

1. Maintenance methods

1. Soil: The arborvitae prefers loose and fertile soil. It can be mixed with garden soil, leaf mold and sandy soil. These soils can provide a large amount of nutrients needed for plant growth. This plant has high requirements for loose soil, so the soil should be turned over in time, once a month, to ensure good soil permeability.

2. Light: The Asian dragon wood likes direct sunlight, but it can also grow in a dark and humid environment. However, it should be noted that if there is no sunlight for a long time, the color of the leaves will fade, so it is necessary to expose them to sunlight every once in a while.

3. Temperature: The suitable living environment of Yalong wood is between 20 and 28 degrees. It is precisely because of this that the temperature from May to July is very suitable for its growth and it is also the season when it grows most vigorously. When the temperature drops below fifteen degrees in winter, the plants need to be moved indoors to prevent them from being harmed by outdoor frost.

4. Water: Yalong wood is suitable for growing in a warm and humid environment, so it has a high demand for water. It is necessary to ensure that there is plenty of water to support its growth.

2. Breeding techniques

1. Cutting: Select strong branches that are more than two years old, about ten to twenty centimeters in length, and do it in May and June when the plants grow most vigorously. After selecting the branches, use a knife to cut the base of the cuttings into a flat edge, wash off the juice with clean water, and then put them in a cool place to dry for a while before you can start cutting.

2. Reproduction: Make a circular cut on the stem of the Asian dragon wood, leaving an incision of about 1.8 to 2.2 cm. And out of the cortex. Then apply naphthaleneacetic acid aqueous solution on the incision. Finally, cover the cut and water it abundantly. Tie up the film and place it outdoors to allow it to receive full sunlight. Within about a month, you should check whether you have enough water at any time and replenish water in time. After a month, new roots will grow at the cut site.

3. Problem diagnosis and treatment

1. Pests and diseases: The dragon wood is easily attacked by red spider mites, which build webs on the back of the plant and suck the sap of the plant. The leaves will become lighter in color, and may even wilt and fall off. It can be captured manually or controlled with chemical drugs. It is easy to treat in the early stages of the disease.

2. Yellow leaves: Because the growth of the Asian dragon wood requires a large amount of sufficient light. If there is not enough sunlight, it cannot respire, which will cause the leaves to change color. Therefore, it needs frequent sunlight and can be placed on a balcony where there is sufficient light and air.

IV. Other issues

1. Can it be grown at home? The Asian dragon wood likes a warm and humid environment. Places with relatively high temperatures are suitable for its growth. It can be grown indoors, and it has the function of purifying the air and decorating the room.

2. Can it be given as a gift: The ornamental value of the Yalong wood is very high. Feng Shui also says that planting Yalong wood can increase good luck, make the family prosperous, healthy and long-lived, so it is suitable for giving as a gift.
