Spinach cultivation methods and precautions

Spinach cultivation methods and precautions

1. Maintenance methods

1. Soil: Spinach roots have relatively high requirements for soil. It is best to have soil with good drainage and sufficient nutrient content. It can be prepared by mixing garden soil + coarse sand with a small amount of base fertilizer.

2. Fertilization: Spinach grows very fast. After it grows true leaves, it is necessary to fertilize it with manure water. As it grows, gradually increase the amount of manure water, preferably diluted.

3. Light: Spinach is a short-term crop and is usually planted in fields. Try to give it plenty of sunlight so that it can grow stronger and faster.

4. Watering: After sowing, the soil needs to be kept moist so that it can take root smoothly. However, you cannot water it too much to avoid water accumulation. After it takes root, you must also try to keep the soil moist, as its root system is not very developed at this time.

2. Breeding techniques

1. Reproduction: Spinach is generally propagated by sowing, and it can be sown all year round. The seeds need to be soaked in water for 12 hours, then refrigerated for 24 hours, and then they can be sown. The best temperature for sowing is 20-25℃. After sowing, they need to be covered with plastic film to ensure sufficient humidity and temperature for rooting and germination.

2. Thinning: If the seedlings grow too closely, thinning them out should be done in an orderly manner. If thinning is not done, its growth will be worse.

3. Problem diagnosis and treatment

1. White spot disease of spinach: This is a disease that is quite harmful to spinach. In the early stage of the disease, you can spray 50% polymyxin for prevention and control. If the situation is serious, the infected plants need to be removed to prevent infection of other plants.

2. Downy mildew: When the disease occurs, it will damage the leaves. In severe cases, the whole plant will die. It needs to be controlled by drugs such as 58% metalaxyl.

IV. Other issues

1. Can it be potted? Spinach can be potted, but it is not very ornamental. You can plant multiple plants in a tray and it can also be eaten.

2. Is it edible? Spinach is edible because it is a vegetable. Moreover, it is currently grown on a large scale in many areas of our country and sold as vegetables.
