It takes a lot of effort for the old succulent plants to live for several years before their branches grow thick. Succulent lovers must be careful when repotting them. Huahua will take Black Magic Master as an example to carefully introduce the correct way to repot old succulent plants. Flower lovers, please pay attention!

1. Prepare the flower pot

In order to give the roots of old succulent plants a larger space to grow, you should choose a flowerpot that is larger than the original one and has drainage holes at the bottom. It would be even better if the appearance is more simple and beautiful, which can better set off the elegant temperament of the old plant.

2. Prepare gadgets

Find a small brush, a pair of tweezers, and a small shovel, these will be used during the repotting process.

3. Insert the tweezers into the gap of the pot soil

The shape of the old flowerpot is not very regular, and the roots of the succulents have grown all over the gaps in the pot. In order to allow the roots and soil to be separated from the pot more completely, you can use tweezers to insert the gap between the soil and the pot to loosen the soil.

4. Pull out the old pile

After the tweezers are inserted, the soil in the pot becomes loose, and with a little force, the roots and soil can be pulled out.

5. Use a small brush to remove the soil from the roots

First, rub the soil on the roots slightly with your hands to allow some of the soil to fall off first, and then use a brush to brush off the soil on the roots.

6. Leave the roots to dry for 2-3 hours

Just use a brush to brush the soil until it looks like the picture below. This black magic plant has no diseases or insect pests, so there is no need to trim or wash the roots. Finally, put it in a cool and ventilated place to dry for 2-3 hours to promote the healing of the root wounds. If there are withered leaves, you can pick them off.

7. Put the soil into the new pot

First, place a piece of gauze in the drainage hole to prevent soil leakage, then sprinkle a 2-4 cm layer of coarse gravel, and then sprinkle a 3 cm thick mixture of perlite, peat and river sand. The soil should not be too wet or too dry, just a little damp when you touch it.

8. Place the old pile in a new pot

When repotting an old tree, the most worrying thing is that there is no one to support it, and the branches will fall all over the place. It would be great if there is another person who can help hold the branches. Don’t forget that we have tweezers, which can act as a second hand. Read on!

9. Use tweezers to hold the branches

Use tweezers to hold the branches like this, and place the two ends of the tweezers on the edge of the pot. The succulent will be fixed in place. It is also very easy to change the pot by one person. Then use a shovel to fill the soil and pour it into the pot.

10. You can fill the soil a little more

When filling the pot with soil, you can pour a little more. After filling, gently weigh the pot. The soil will fall down because there are gaps between the soil.

After weighing the flowerpot, the soil in the pot sank and became more compact, allowing the succulents to grow more firmly in the soil.

11. Cover the basin with medical stone

Spreading a layer of medical stone on the surface of the pot not only looks beautiful, but also helps the succulents grow quickly. The black magic master looks better after changing to a new pot. The branches will definitely grow thicker and faster!
