1. Maintenance methods

1. Temperature: Gaoyue azalea prefers coolness, specifically between 15 and 20 degrees. It is a variety that is not very heat-resistant, so when the temperature is above 30 degrees, it is best to adjust it, otherwise its leaves will be burned and its flowering will be affected. In addition, the temperature in winter should be above ten degrees.

2. Light: Rhododendron australis is light-loving, but it is extremely afraid of strong light. Therefore, in summer and autumn, if the light is too strong, try to block it, or you can place a larger tree next to it to block it. However, it should not be too dark during the flowering period.

3. Watering: Gaoyue azalea likes moisture. If it is grown in a place with very little rain, it is necessary to replenish water to the substrate in time and spray water frequently. Of course, it cannot be too waterlogged and stagnant water must be avoided.

4. Fertilization: Gaoyue azalea is afraid of concentrated fertilizer, so it is necessary to pay attention to dilution when fertilizing. You don't need to fertilize too often, generally once or twice a month is enough. Fertilizer applied before and after the flowering period is relatively important, especially phosphorus fertilizer.

1. Reproduction: Cutting is the most commonly used method of reproduction. May or June is a good time to do it. Choose semi-lignified, preferably new, branches between five and eight centimeters in length as materials. It is best to cut off part of the leaves before cutting. 1. Disease: From May to August, the most common disease is "brown spot", which can be sprayed with oxycarboxin once every ten days. There is also "coin disease", which can be prevented and treated with copper sulfate.

2. Pests: The main type is "aphids", and they can also cause plants to be infected with other diseases, so timely prevention is required. Furadan can be used for prevention and control.
