Cultivation methods and precautions of alpine banyan

Cultivation methods and precautions of alpine banyan

1. Maintenance methods

1. Temperature: Mountain banyan is generally distributed in southern my country because it likes high temperature environment and is very afraid of cold. Generally speaking, a temperature between twenty and thirty degrees is more appropriate. Due to its relatively large size, not many people grow it as a potted plant indoors, so in the north, protecting it from the cold is a very important task.

2. Light: Banyan tree is a positive tree species, and it has very high requirements for sunlight. Therefore, when caring for it, be careful not to keep it in a very dark place all the time. When choosing a location for planting, the amount of sunlight should be fully considered.

3. Watering: Alpine banyan likes moisture, but its drought resistance is relatively good. However, in order to make it grow better, try not to go without watering for a long time. During the growing period, it is best to keep the soil moist.

4. Fertilization: The mountain banyan tree has good adaptability and does not require too much fertilizer. The base fertilizer in the soil is relatively important, and the rest of the topdressing can be done in appropriate amounts.

2. Breeding techniques

1. Reproduction: You can use the cutting method. If you adopt the sowing method, it will take a long time for it to grow into a big tree. It can be carried out from February to March and from September to October. Choose two three-year-old branches, between fifteen and thirty centimeters in length, and try to make them hard branches. Then the cuttings are planted in the seedbed. After that, water it thoroughly and try to keep the humidity at around 85 percent. Spring plantings can be transplanted in August or September. Autumn plantings can be transplanted in April or May of the following year.

2. Repotting: Although it is relatively large in size, it can also be used as a bonsai, so you need to pay attention to repotting. The specific interval can be determined according to the volume. Generally speaking, large or medium-sized ones should be replaced every three to four years, and small ones can be replaced every two years.

3. Problem diagnosis and treatment

1. Diseases: Diseases that cause harm generally harm the leaves. If you find that the leaves are abnormally curling, withering, falling, etc., it may be "chlorosis", "soot disease", etc. Bordeaux, ferrous sulfate, etc. can be used for prevention and control.

2. Pests: Mainly scale insects, which suck sap. It can be brushed off manually or sprayed with medicine.

IV. Other issues

1. Toxicity: Banyan tree is non-toxic and has purifying properties.

2. Can it be grown at home? Although it is large in size, it can also be grown as a potted plant.
