Cultivation methods and precautions of monkey face flower

1. Maintenance methods

1. Soil: When preparing potting soil for monkey flower, first put broken tiles and base fertilizer in the flowerpot, then mix garden soil, sandy soil and leaf mold thoroughly and put it in, then you can plant it.

2. Light: It has a strong ability to accept light. Except for the need for shade during the high temperature period in summer, direct sunlight is no problem at other times. When keeping it indoors in winter, try to let it receive sunlight as much as possible.

3. Temperature: The most suitable environmental temperature for its growth is 15-28℃. When kept indoors in winter, the temperature should not be lower than 10℃. It should also be briefly moved to a cooler place during the high temperature period in summer.

4. Fertilizer: When fertilizing it, it is best to use a compound fertilizer that contains nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium elements. It can be applied once a month, but the amount each time should not be too much. A little less fertilizer is okay, but too much will burn the roots.

2. Breeding techniques

1. Reproduction: The most common way to propagate Monkey Flower is by sowing. The best time to sow is in spring or autumn. After sowing, water it thoroughly and place it in a cool place for maintenance. Also pay attention to ventilation.

2. Flowering period management: After flowering, if you want it to bloom longer, you can place it next to a south-facing window to prolong its flowering period. You can also pinch the top of the plant to encourage it to branch out and bloom more flowers.

3. Problem diagnosis and treatment

1. Aphids: Aphids are very harmful to monkey flowers. They not only suck the juice of the plants, but also spread various viruses. When they are discovered in the early stage, they should be sprayed with 1000 times diluted 50% Marathon Emulsion.

2. Leaf spot disease: Leaf spot disease is very common, mainly manifested as brown spots. It needs to be treated promptly by mixing 20 ml of 20% silazole·myclobutanil with 30 catties of clean water and spraying once a week.
