How to care for dianthus flowers

How to care for dianthus flowers

1. Flowering time

This flower does not bloom in the same fixed time period, because its sowing time is spring and autumn, and its flowering time is not the same due to the north-south reasons, so generally speaking it actually blooms in May and June or September and October.

2. Watering

It is not fond of water, but we need to water it in time when it blooms, because water is very necessary at this time, so that it can grow more beautifully and the nutrients can keep up. In addition, the soil must not be allowed to become hardened. Remember to loosen the soil during the rainy season so that it does not grow poorly.

3. Ventilation

When it is flowering, it has higher requirements for ventilation, because if the ventilation is not good at this time, its roots are likely to have problems.

4. Temperature

The temperature should be kept between fifteen and twenty when flowering, within which it can grow luxuriantly. In addition, we also need to adjust its humidity. Only when these two are perfectly combined can it grow well.

5. Lighting

During the flowering period, we also need to provide it with the light it needs. Generally, we set the time to six to eight hours. Of course, we can't let it stay in the hot sun for too long, otherwise it will easily cause problems.

6. Fertilization

In fact, its requirements for fertilizer are quite high. The fertilizer it needs is decomposed fertilizer water, not too concentrated, just a little thin. The general interval between fertilization is ten days. In addition, if we pick the flowers, we also need to apply top dressing.

7. Pests and diseases

If the plant is infested by insects during the flowering period, we need to prescribe the right medicine. Generally, there are several common diseases. The one that is more likely to be encountered during the flowering period is red spider mites. At this time, we generally use Dimethoate emulsion.
