What does a camellia look like?

1. The appearance of flowers

Camellia flowers grow at the top of the branches and are mostly red or light pink, and some are white. The petals are mostly double, but there are also single-petal varieties. Because it has many petals, they are often distributed in multiple layers. The outer layer is nearly round, while the inner layer is obovate. It has three whorls of stamens, about 3 cm long.

2. Flower type introduction

1. Single-petal type: Single-petal camellias are mostly original species, and there are also some cultivated varieties. There are about 5-7 petals, distributed in 1-2 rounds. The colors are mostly red, but there are also pink and purple.

2. Double petal type: The number of petals of double petal camellia is between single petals and double petals, usually 20-50 petals, distributed in 3-5 circles. The colors include red, pink and white. It is divided into four flower shapes, namely double petal type, five-star type, lotus type and pine cone type. The various flower shapes are just as their names suggest, some look like lotus flowers, and some look like pine cones.

3. Double-petaled camellia has more than 50 petals, and the cultivated varieties can even have as many as 130 petals. It is divided into seven flower types, namely, osmanthus type, chrysanthemum type, hibiscus type, crown type, hydrangea type, radial type and rose type. The colors include red, yellow, white, purple, colorful stripes, etc.
