Is it normal for orchid leaves to curl after being potted? How to deal with it after potting

1. Is it normal?

It is normal for leaves to curl after potting. The orchid has not yet fully adapted to the pot and its roots are still in the adaptation stage, so it cannot fully absorb water and nutrients, which will cause the leaves to curl. Secondly, it may be caused by lack of water. After repotting, the plant needs to be watered thoroughly to provide it with sufficient water. This will also allow the soil to combine closely with the roots of the plant, allowing the orchid to resume growth in a shorter time. In addition, it may also be caused by improper lighting. If the sunlight is too strong, the leaves will easily curl, and the plant needs to be placed in a semi-shaded place for maintenance.

2. How to deal with the basin

1. Watering: After potting, the first watering needs to be thorough to allow the plant and soil to better combine. But you don't need to water too much afterwards, just keep the soil in the pot slightly moist to ensure that the roots do not become dehydrated and dry out. The frequency of watering should be kept at about once every 5 days. A dry soil in the pot will help the plant adapt to the pot and grow new roots.

2. Light: After the orchid is potted, it should not be placed directly in the sunlight, otherwise it will easily cause the leaves to turn yellow and curl, and prolong the acclimatization time. It is best to keep the plant in a cool, ventilated or diffused light place.

3. Fertilization: Do not apply fertilizer too early, otherwise it will increase the burden on the roots of the plant. It is best not to apply fertilizer within three months of potting, and wait until the orchid is fully adapted to the pot before applying fertilizer.
