Yangjiaomi is a kind of thin-skinned melon . It has been very popular in the market in the past two years. It has high sugar content and good taste. Let’s learn about the planting methods and management techniques of honey locust. 1. Planting time Honeydew melon can be grown in two ways: greenhouse cultivation and open field cultivation . Among them, the time for open-field planting is generally around the Qingming Festival every year. During this time, the temperature rises relatively quickly and the chance of late spring cold is relatively small. The greenhouse planting time is not particularly fixed, it is probably around the Spring Festival. 2. Variety selection Select high-quality and high-yield varieties suitable for local planting based on local soil conditions and growing environment. When choosing seeds, you should pick those with full grains and no disease, and germinate them so that they absorb enough water. It is best to air the seeds for two days before germination, which will help increase the germination rate of the seeds. 3. Site selection and land preparation Honeydew melon is suitable for growing in soil with sufficient fertility and rich organic matter content. Before planting, the soil should be deeply plowed and sufficient base fertilizer should be applied, mainly organic fertilizer or well-rotted farmyard manure, and some cake fertilizer should be added. Organic fertilizer has a long-lasting effect and comprehensive nutrients, which can meet the nutrient supply of honey bees at different growth stages. 4. Seedling cultivation Place the germinated seeds in a seedling pot for seedling cultivation. When the seedlings grow three leaves, they can be transplanted. Generally, the "ridge-forming" planting method is adopted. The plant spacing is about 40cm, the row spacing is 140cm, and about 2,300 plants are planted per mu, and water is applied. After planting, if the soil in the melon field is moist, there is no need to water it again. Water it once when the melon seedlings grow to about 10 centimeters. Watering should be done on a sunny day. 5. Field management After transplanting, water once every 7 to 10 days depending on the situation, 6 to 7 m3 of water per mu each time, and gradually increase the frequency of watering to keep the soil moist. Control the temperature and humidity, carry out tillage and weeding, and increase soil permeability. Apply fertilizer and water in time, do a good job of scaffolding and topping, and apply potassium nitrate compound fertilizer every two weeks or so in conjunction with watering, about 5 kilograms each time. Start selecting the second crop of melons from the 20th leaf vine, leaving 3 melons per plant. 6. Pest and disease control Remove diseased leaves and fruits promptly, pull out diseased plants, and take them out of the field for deep burial or destruction. Physical control methods such as yellow insect traps + insect-proof nets can be used. The main pests are whiteflies and aphids. It can be controlled by spraying 70% imidacloprid wettable powder, with a dosage of 1 to 2 grams per mu; or by fumigation with 10% isoprocarb smoke, with a dosage of 300 to 400 grams per mu.
